STEPHEN F. (RICK) BAN
Rick’s practice ranges from estate planning and administration to antitrust litigation, with stops at mergers and acquisitions and estate and commercial litigation in between. Although diverse, these practice areas combine to permit Rick to bring a unique perspective to the needs of both businesses and personal clients.
Throughout his career, Rick has counseled individuals, families, and businesses in the creation of succession plans. These planning strategies include business succession planning, wealth preservation, use of life insurance and practical issues involving multiple residences and individual family member needs. Rick also has broad experience in estate and trust administration, representing individual and local bank fiduciaries.
For over 25 years, Rick has represented clients in a variety of Sherman Act and Robinson-Patman antitrust actions across the United States involving health care reimbursement, professional boycotts, insurance, hardware cooperatives, trade associations, roofing distribution, wholesale and retail beverage distribution and heavy construction equipment, as well as antitrust class actions. He regularly counsels clients on transactional matters, merger compliance and the creation of antitrust compliance programs and represents clients in enforcement agency investigations.
Rick is also a commercial litigator with a broad range of experience in commercial civil litigation matters involving healthcare, breach of contract, covenants not to compete, benefit administration, and corporate insurance and insurance agencies, as well as estate litigation.
