Metz Lewis was formed in 1998 by a group of lawyers who wanted to create a new kind of law firm. The founding team had a diversity of experience and had spent time working for "the big firms." They understood that many segments of the client spectrum had legal needs which were not being well serviced by the existing legal market. The mid-market sector needed an alternative in which business acumen and legal sophistication would be the foundation. Further, they wanted to create a workplace where the client was central, which meant eliminating layers of bureaucracy. This resulted in attracting and building a team of experienced lawyers who not only provide business-savvy counsel in their practices, but who also give their clients the highest degree of service.
