Metz Lewis Seeks to Hire an Oil and Gas Title Attorney – (Contract-to-Hire)
Metz Lewis is a Pittsburgh-based law firm with a reputation for delivering sophisticated and practical advice on oil and gas matters to numerous Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Companies.
We are currently searching for an Oil and Gas Title Attorney who is interested in being based in Pittsburgh. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for an experienced Oil & Gas Attorney. The selected candidate will initially work on a contract basis, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance and project needs. During the contract period, weekly hours may vary depending on workload and deadlines.
This position entails working in a dynamic growing practice group that primarily serves Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Companies. The practice group provides sophisticated counseling for multiple energy, oil, gas and mineral-related clients on transaction matters as they relate to high-volume transactions, title issues, opinion and division order opinions in the Appalachian Basin. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drafting and reviewing oil and gas title opinions, oil and gas deeds, oil and gas assignments and related instruments
- Analyzing oil and gas title abstracts, due diligence reports, purchase and sale agreements and related documents
- Ability to organize/prioritize, and handle multiple time sensitive issues in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in drafting title opinions, with West Virginia experience being preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong research and writing background
- Excellent communication skills
- Admission to either Pennsylvania, Ohio or West Virginia Bar is required
