Joseph is an associate in the Tax, Trusts & Estates Group at Metz Lewis, where he works closely with high-net-worth individuals and families to develop thoughtful, tailored tax planning strategies. He is passionate about taking complex tax and financial issues and distilling them into clear, understandable advice. He finds the most rewarding part of his work in helping clients achieve simplification in a tax world that is complicated and unyieldingly complex.
Before joining Metz Lewis, Joseph spent nearly 10 years in public accounting, assisting his clients with tax issues covering everything from S Corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts, individuals, charitable foundations, and public charities. Few things in Joseph’s practice have been as rewarding as when a client says, “Thanks for taking the time to explain to me how this works, you really make this easy to understand.”
In his practice, Joseph combines technical knowledge with a client-centered mindset. He approaches tax planning not just as a legal exercise, but as an opportunity to help clients simplify their lives: to break down complexity, provide clarity, and build strategies that reflect their goals and values. His clients benefit from his patient explanations and his commitment to long-term, sustainable planning.
Joseph lives in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with his wife and their two children. He is active in his local community and enjoys spending quality time with his family. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoys skiing and camping, and he is deeply involved in the YMCA Y-Princess and Y-Guides program, sharing in his kids’ activities and mentoring their growth.
