Alec Shields is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group who focuses on transactional tax matters.

He advises corporations, private equity, and multinational organizations on the tax aspects of corporate reorganizations, debt restructurings and recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and cross-border transactions. Alec’s practice also includes partnership taxation, international tax structuring, and large-scale corporate restructurings. He works closely with legal, financial, and investment teams to develop tax-efficient structures that support clients’ strategic transaction objectives.

Alec earned his J.D. from Penn State Dickinson School of Law, where he completed a Certificate in Taxation. He received his undergraduate degree in Sport Business Administration from Mercyhurst University and was a member of the NCAA Division I ice hockey team.
