Robert Thompson is a highly motivated litigator who thrives in fast paced environments that call for hard work and creativity.
Robert focuses his practice on commercial litigation where he assists clients with complex litigation and handles all stages of the process to and through trial. Robert is currently a commissioned officer in the West Virginia Army National Guard, where he has served since 2014. Outside of his military career, Robert was previously an associate with a national law firm where he managed many distinct types of litigation including insurance defense, energy, commercial, and professional liability matters. Robert is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia and has experience in both state and federal courts.
At the West Virginia University College of Law, he was selected as the Team Captain of the Philip C, Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. In his time at WVU, Robert was an intern with the West Virginia University Office of General Counsel and a summer associate with the national law firm where he was an associate attorney prior to joining Metz Lewis. Robert graduated from WVU Law with distinction as a member of the Order of the Barristers as a result of his success in Moot Court, participation in the Veterans Advocacy Clinic, and academic success in litigation-based courses.
Robert is a proud graduate of Marion Military Institute, where he earned his commission as an officer in the United States Army. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and their two dogs.
