Leilani Medina Costa

Leilani is one of the founding lawyers of Metz Lewis and serves as the firm’s Transaction Director.

With more than 20 years of experience in corporate law, she leads the transactional execution of the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice of the Corporate Group. Leilani also has Big Four experience, having previously worked as a CPA for Deloitte in the tax and audit departments.

As the Transaction Director, Leilani manages the full lifecycle of M&A transactions. She leads deal execution from inception through Closing by coordinating multidisciplinary teams, overseeing due diligence, interfacing with specialists, and driving deals to Closing with precision and efficiency.

Leilani brings a unique perspective to her legal practice, having begun her career as a CPA in Deloitte’s Pittsburgh office, where she worked in both the tax and audit departments. This dual perspective allows her to approach transactions with an enhanced understanding of both legal and business considerations.

Over the past four and a half years, Leilani has closed more than 70 M&A transactions ranging in size from $10 million to $1.1 billion. Her work spans a variety of transaction types, including buy-side and sell-side engagements, asset and stock transactions, RWI (Representation and Warranty Insurance) deals, strategic alliances, and transactions coupled with F-reorganizations.
