Oliver Building Pittsburgh

We counsel employers in all areas of employment, labor, and workers’ compensation law.

In the belief that prevention is the best medicine, we help our clients prevent lawsuits, union problems, and injury claims. We train staffs, draft and re-write policies and procedures, assist in the handling and investigation of complaints, and guide clients through recruiting, hiring, disciplinary, and termination decisions – all with the goal of keeping our clients out of government agencies and courts while preserving the right to run their business.

We have experience in federal and state courts, and before government agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the Department of Labor, and the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. For our clients with non-union workforces, we provide union avoidance training and advice, negotiate collective bargaining agreements, and address the day-to-day controversies that arise.

Our defense philosophy is simple: advocate relentlessly and aggressively, never losing sight of our client’s goals. We have handled virtually every issue that can arise, including: discrimination, drugs and alcohol policies, benefits, employee discipline and termination, handbooks, harassment claims, immigration law, non-compete agreements, occupational safety law, unemployment compensation, and union avoidance.
