The federal Family and Medical Leave Act notice equirements have been revised to remove the explicit definition of “Serious Injury or Illness,” replacing the definition with a statement that there are differences between the definition of the term for a services member or veteran and the “Serious Health Condition” under the FMLA.  Also, the definition of “Veteran” has been revised to include both who serve and those who have been discharged in the past 5 years.  These changes become effective March 8, 2013 and require employers employing 50 or more employees to obtain new posters with the revised FMLA notice.
