The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Revenue announced that Pennsylvania Personal Income Tax Returns may be filed and paid as late as July 15, 2020 (instead of April 15, 2020).

Nothing needs to be filed to obtain this extension. So final payment of 2019 Pennsylvania Personal Income Tax and the first and second quarter estimated payments for 2020 may be paid at any time on or before  July 15, 2020 and there will be no penalty or interest.

If you expect a refund from Pennsylvania – file early to get your money sooner.

Other states which have provided relief in various extended dates and payment terms are:

  • Iowa
  • California
  • Indiana
  • Maryland
  • Connecticut
  • South Carolina
  • Oregon
  • Washington

Finally, there is still no word about extensions for local earned income tax returns, so until further notice, we advise that local earned income tax returns be filed and paid on or before April 15, 2020.

Please call if you have any questions or need any assistance.
